Missio means "to carry."  Missio Dei means "to carry God."

The mission of the church is to carry the Good News of God's love to the world.  

In The United Methodist Church, this is made known through our prayers, our presence, our gifts, our service and our witness.

Each member vows to carry the Good News in ways Jesus taught his disciples and how his ministry in scripture teaches those who choose to follow him to this day.
