What Shapes Ministry at Lexington UMC?

Lexington United Methodist Church exists to

Welcome God

Know God

Serve God

Share God

Experience God

Love God

These are the pillars, or foundations of how this community of faith

understands how to live as disciples of Jesus Christ.

LUMC is Wesleyan-centered in our understanding of grace.

We exist to bring glory to God by making disciples through radical hospitality,

passionate worship, risk-taking mission and service, extravagant generosity

and intentional faith development.  We believe Jesus offers healing and wholeness

when we practice these pillars, creating a welcoming space for all to find hope.

The Scriptures, Tradition, Reason & Experience

help us form our unique expression of Good News

in our families, our communities, and around the world.

The most important aspect of becoming a follower of Christ

is to invite others to experience God's amazing grace for themselves.

This happens in prayer, worship, service, study and giving.

It is the hope and prayer of LUMC that you know the love of God in Jesus Christ.

LUMC Children & Family Ministry

Welcome to 4th Sunday Funday!

  • Family schedules get overwhelming.
  • COVID concerns exist for very young children.
  • Making connections with all generations creates lifetime relationships
  • How do you help your children hear God's love for them and the world?
  • During Covid (Fall 2021), our Spiritual Formation Team landed on 4th Sunday Funday as a way to gather with adults, youth and children to worship, have fun, and learn about God's love.
  • Each 4th Sunday Funday meets in the large hall under a canopy of lights.  Everyone participates in songs, prayers and the message.  Children have a break-out session with adult leaders to explore the subject with crafts and a take-home packet for the coming month.

If you would like a monthly packet, contact Genie Bank at geniebank@gmail.com

We're always looking for great individuals to love and serve our kids, and help show the love of Christ to them during our gatherings.  All volunteers who work with children, youth and vulnerable adults are screened and trained.

If you're someone who would like to serve, or just know a little bit more about LUMC Children & Family Ministry, please contact us.  lexingtonumc@gmail.com
